putting 1 storage idea to the test

putting 1 storage idea to the test

I just have a quick update today on one of my past storage idea posts, one space saver you don’t want to miss.  You know how we all have been trying to get our homes organized and I shared in this post how to use tension rods as storage ideas.  I was so excited to try this under my kitchen sink to store my cleaning supplies, it’s a great space saving idea.

Did it really work?

I gotta keep it real and honest ladies.

This is a great concept, however there was one slight problem with this storage idea.

I had too much weight hanging on the rod!

But no need to worry!  Honey Do Dave came to my rescue.

He actually made a wood bracket to support the rod to keep the rod in place.  Just another little small DIY home project that you can do.

Perfect storage idea!  Now my cleaning supplies are hanging and allow more space for my other cleaning supplies.

Notice my scotch brite is in front.  Right there for easy access since it is the product that I use daily.

How are you doing with organizing your home?  I must admit, I am slacking.  Maybe things in my life will slow down now so I can get caught up.

Have you tried the tension rods yet?  If so, what was your experience?

What other great storage ideas do you have to share?

  1. That’s a terrific idea! I actually have a pantry and a linen closet in my kitchen (the laundry room is off of the kitchen) so we don’t really store much under the sink in case the grandkids are over. But I will keep this in mind if things start to over flow.

  2. great idea Wanda – I have too many cleaners to fit on a rod – so most likely I will need those brackets too

  3. Good to know–little tricks to make it really work!

Wanda, thanks for this great tip. I don’t have that many products, but I am excited to try this under my kitchen sink for dish towels. Thanks for all the cool ideas. Love the blog.

  5. Now that is genius. I’m always trying to come up with good ideas like that to optimize our small storage space, but honestly, it’s a weakness of mine. I will try this for sure. Thanks!
