Are you really sure you are deployed?

Are you really sure you are deployed?

Hey Friends!

I just have a short and sweet post today.  I wanted to let you all know that I will be leaving for Europe and will be gone for 2 weeks.  My husband has been deployed, to Afghanistan,  since June 5th, you can read about the day he deployed here, and he has an opportunity to go to Europe for 2 weeks for a conference.  What a treat!  Yeah I know,  is he really deployed? HA!  I was surprised by an email from David that I received just days after returning home from my 7 week vacation to my parents!

We anxiously started planning when the little voice inside my head said, “check your passport.”

I had David on the phone so I got our passports out and to our surprise mine had expired!  We began freaking out because it takes a while to get a passport you know and we had less than 2 weeks to plan!  Anyway we found this company, and they were very helpful with getting the passport renewed.  It did cost us, but it is so worth it!  My new passport arrived yesterday!  What a relief!

My parents arrive today to help out with the girls.  Thank you mama and daddy, I could not have gone without your help!  I feel guilty not being here for their first day of school, even though I know Mama Pearl and Papa T will do a great job!  I do think this is their first time ever being able to visit during the first week of school.  The girls are not happy that they are not going with me.  They have worked pretty hard at making me feel guilty!  This will be the first vacation that David and I have EVER taken together without our girls.  This is actually the first time we have left them with anyone for this amount of time. YIKES!  I know, they are old enough, but they are my girls, you know!  Do moms take off and leave their kids behind, especially during the first week of school?   Why am I feeling so guilty?

I am off to visit Brussells, Cambridge, and Stuggart, and any place inbetween,  I do think we are planning a train ride into London.  Too bad the Olympics end on the 12th!  I would love to have been in London to watch and support the USA!!  I am looking for all the must do’s and wonderful restaurants!  Anyone have any suggestions?  I can’t wait to share my travels with you!   Make sure to follow me on Twitter or Facebook so you can stay in touch with me!  I also have some guest bloggers scheduled that I really want you to show some love to!  Oh and I will be having my blog redesigned, so you gotta check that out too!!

  1. Oh what a wonderful opportunity! You will have a wonderful time I am sure! I have been to Europe a few times and loved it. Best advice is pack light and careful of the internet you use there (some are not secure). Look forward to hearing about your trip!
